JOB SUMMARY:The Select Product Director is responsible for participating in projects dedicated to new Business Insurance product and platform development. They have experience in Commercial Casualty and/or Property insurance; participate in line of business and platform management, presentations to multiple audiences and training internal and external groups. The Product Director works in collaboration with Select business partners and other business units. They provide input and analysis for industry segment best practices and underwriting strategies, marketing materials and competitive information. The Product Director participates in special projects with team members from multiple disciplines to enhance Select product offerings and platform performance. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:• Participate in product and platform development initiatives including the creation of capability advancements to maximize the full potential of the automated platform.• Manage platform enhancements by developing business requirements, consulting with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance and IT.• Analysis and reporting of existing product, platform and underwriting strategies including book performance, trending, and changes in the external marketplace.• Contribute to new product idea generation within and across business units. • Collaborate with other Travelers business units and Enterprise Product and Underwriting to support line strategies and develop new product and platform enhancements.QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum two years Business Insurance experience required. Multi-line or specific line of insurance (Casualty or Property) underwriting, product or equivalent business experience required.• College Degree or equivalent experience.• Exceptional quantitative reasoning and critical thinking, verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.• Demonstrated creative problem solving and negotiation skills.• Ability to build partnerships and demonstrate collaboration skills needed for a team-oriented environment.• Ability to autonomously meet or exceed established deadlines.• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and overall computer navigation.
