Details: Position Description:This position is responsible for testing and assisting in the development of the LifeCode engine to ensure the codes assigned are reflected in the dictation using ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and Modifiers are compliant and supported in the dictation. The person communicates any system changes and inconsistencies found in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) department and reports compliance issues to the Compliance Officer. This position is responsible for Datacenter, Web application testing and QA maintenance.Primary Responsibilities:Reviews trends and developments in medicine, medical coding and technology and shares with colleagues.Recommends coding improvement for customers via filters, super filters, billing rules or export changes.Assists in training of NLP group on how the datacenter works so they can better apply that knowledge to working their CRM tickets.Maintains a wiki page that contains documentation of how the Datacenter works, features of the workstation, FAQ issues and continually updates with more features as they are implemented.Assists team with how the Datacenter processes the files from the clients to better determine the best way to address client specific needs.Actively working on ways to improve internal processes to validate changes done within the NLP group or engineering.Participation on client calls to address specific configuration needs.Assists in the maintenance of all documentation as it pertains to LifeCode coding output, customer education documents or Coding CriterionReviews all billing rules (including Alias) annually and recommends updates to datacenter that can improve efficiencyReviews Radiology customers prior to them going live into Preview and Production systems to ensure custom configurations are correct and coding output is accurate.Tests all coding related software changes to ensure that the filters and billing rules programmed work correctlyAssists with Sprint testing of the UI as well as analysis of the Datacenter components that affect coding output.Maintains test procedures for all testing efforts as well as the correct installation paperwork that may be required. Reports system errors to appropriate department.Offers expert advice to prospective clients on the effective utilization of computer-assisted coding softwareDefines requirements for ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS code development for periodic releases of the LifeCode engine. Testing and analyzing the output of LifeCode and request programming updates as needed.Works with the NLP team on outpatient coding development covering both diagnostic and surgical procedures.Provides detailed coding feedback on regression and functional tests using Windows based quality assurance software.Applies coding principles and guidelines in the development of diagnosis and procedure codes.Applies knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology in the development of appropriate codes.Provides second-level support on customer coding questions and issues.
