Details: Job Classification: Contract BASIC PURPOSE:To assist members who have had damage to their property from an insurance claim partial or total loss. To process the remittance to the required private mortgage insurance (PMI) to ensure mortgage coverage in the event of default by mortgagor.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Assists members with property damage by reviewing mortgage insurance claims and providing appropriate counsel/advice to members. -Reviews and evaluates loan documentation to determine investor guideline to process claim accordingly-Reviews repair contracts, estimates and documentation received from the homeowner to ensure accurate replacement of lost/damaged items-Deposits insurance claim check received from member for settlement of loss to the restricted escrow account of the mortgage loan-Documents the nature and detailed scope of claim, including interim inspection reports-Responds to inquires from member/ inspection service/authorized third parties regarding the disposition of their insurance claim-Obtains and expedites relief measures provided by the investor to streamline procedures -Reviews inspection results to authorize and process repair fund release2.Processes remittances to the Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) to insure mortgage coverage in the event of member non-payment.-Reconciles and balances monthly billing from insurance company-Reconciles and balances remittances to the Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) to ensure Navy Federal mortgage insurance coverage -Requests report (via tape) of selected accounts for review and remittance to insurance company-Requests a payment match to determine accounts billed compared to established account-Ensures the accurate and prompt follow-up on billing/payment issues, including “open item report”, exceptions, deletions, etc.3.Reconciles and balances required remittances to CUNA Mutual for the optional home mortgage protection life insurance program.-Processes additions and deletions from accounts where appropriate-Notifies members by letter when transferring insurance from fully paid loan to new mortgage -Calculates and prepares memorandum to request wire transfer of authorized funds to Insurance Company and transfer of funds to earned income-Ensures the accurate and prompt follow-up on billing/payment issues by reconciling items -Processes claims upon death of the member-Applies funds to mortgage upon receipt of approved claim proceeds from Insurance Company4.Performs other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Level I-Fundamental knowledge of Fannie Mae, and/or VA mortgage servicing guidelines-Administrative experience that demonstrates effective customer service skills-Ability to work independently and as a team while exercising sound business judgment-Effective oral, written and telephone communication skills-Developed problem solving skills with strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy-Good arithmetic skills-Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply regulations, instructions and procedures-Computer skills including familiarity with word processing and spreadsheetsLevel II-Strong knowledge of FHA, VA and Investor mortgage servicing guidelines-Solid understanding of financial and credit transaction documentation process-Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently within set policy and procedures-Strong oral, written and telephone communication skills-Demonstrated problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work assignments-Excellent arithmetic skills-Ability to work effectively with various levels of management-Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to assign/prioritize work assignments-Ability to train/ coach staff and provide guidance during absence of Supervisor-Ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely manner while maintaining accuracy and quality-Strong knowledge in the use of word processing and spreadsheet softwareDesired: -Working knowledge of mortgage servicing computer systems, LPS, SMS, UAD, UNIFI etc.QUALIFIED candidates email directly at smedinas[at]aerotek.comJoin Aerotek Professional Services&174.
